OUR BEGINNING

Born from celebration.
Built around opportunity.

The AmaZulu King’s Golf Cup was established in 2024. Its inaugural golf day took place on 23 September 2024, the birthday of His Majesty King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini.

That occasion set the direction for the Cup: to bring golfers, business leaders, royal houses and supporters together around a shared purpose, while celebrating the King’s birthday through the game of golf.

At its heart is a clear ambition. A child’s opportunity to learn golf should not depend on where they grow up. The Cup aims to introduce the sport to rural communities across KwaZulu-Natal, making room for new players, new confidence and talent that might otherwise go undiscovered.

OUR PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

A first swing.
Closer to home.

eMashobeni Royal Palace

One of the Cup’s main proposed projects is a driving range at eMashobeni Royal Palace. The aim is to give children from surrounding rural communities, particularly those with limited access to sporting facilities, a welcoming place to be introduced to golf.

The proposal includes a clubhouse for meetings and events, creating a place where golf development and community life can grow together.

The driving range is envisaged as one of the first development projects to be supported through proceeds from the golf day and dedicated partnerships. It remains a proposed project, with fundraising intended to help move the vision towards delivery.
